It’s been a really busy month so far and I’m thoroughly enjoying working on the new Sky Sports show Game Changers. Our first programme went live last week at the regular slot of 9am on Saturday mornings, just before Soccer AM. The team are fab and working with Darren Campbell is brilliant fun. It’s a small world as I went to school with Darren’s sister in Cheshire back in the day! He is full of enthusiasm and an inspiring guy and he’s a Living for Sport Mentor for Sky Sports along with over 70 others.
Our first show included Jenna Downing, World Champion Inline Skater and Louis Smith, three time Olympic Medallist and Britain’s most success gymnast. The show was fast paced and energetic to say the least! We want kids to get active and get in to sport! I hope you can support the show and tune in when you get chance. This weekend, Judy Murray will be teaching us some tennis skills and there’s a masterclass from her son and Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray.
So much has happened in the world of sport over the past couple of weeks. Huge congrats to Team Europe in the Solheim Cup at the weekend. What incredible golf and what talent there is in the ladies game. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it! Also Jason Dufner picked up his first Major Championship at the US PGA finishing two shots clear of the field. He’s a down to earth guy who seems to take everything in his stride. Great performance.
Also it’s the start of the Premier League season and there’s healthy banter in our household. My husband supports Manchester United and I’m a City fan hence the constant chat about footy. We were glued to the TV last weekend and I particularly enjoyed Monday Night Football with Ed Chamberlin, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher. Fantastic analysis and the result was obviously good for Man City fans.
On another note, I wanted to mention Mildred’s Restaurant in London! I have a soft spot for healthy alternative food and we visited this fab establishment last week. I can highly recommend the vegan peach tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream. Thank you to @deliciouslyella for the recommendation.
Rehearsals tomorrow for the next episode of Game Changers so I better get reading my script!
Speak soon. Di x
